This is the first time I tried to a pen that was not a 7mm type. I was expecting a lot more work to use them then it was. They slipped right in and kept the pen blank exactly centered so I had no problem making the pen.

I just made 2 pens in a jiffy. Since you only make the upper half, a person might want two sets of bushings so they can make them 2 at a time. Otherwise you end up chucking in a spacer. Nice looking pen for any hunter!

My first thought about this bushing was that if it is adapting from a 7mm to 8mm, the part fitting into the pen tube must be paperthin and that I would have to handle the bushings very carefully to avoid damage to them.I should have known Penn State would take care of me because as it turns out the bushings are absolutely strong and durable. I have ordered pen-related items from Penn State for a few years,and have settled on them as my sole supplier. I can always depend on Penn State's quality, service, and promptness in delivering my orders.
