I am making pens for Christmas gifts, and for our Church bazaar. This is a quality item to use for both. Very good finish and appearance with the different woods I am using.

I have made many of PSI pen kits, but I have always liked giving the 24kt gold Slimline pen/pencil set to business associates. Cross has been a great pen for business men and women and this Slimline presents the same professional appeal with a very personal touch.
Other reason I like this model:
Easy and fast construction.
Made of good materials that work well and look great for years.
Very inexpensive.
Many requests for this pen to give as a reasonably priced gift.
Using the EZ-Blanks make building this pen a snap.
I would like to see the EZ-Blank series expanded to include some high end wood.
I like this series, but I also like several other of PSI's kits and sometimes I would rather keep the pens because each one is "special" to me!

I have made about 50 slimline pen's and they are very nice. It is simple to do and are easy to put together. The only problem I've had is with the twist mechanism. I have had problems with a small number of them. Most of them are all right.

Good stuff, as always, from Penn State
Reviewer: Don Minner (Lexington, NC)
Have already made eight pens with this kit. When I show them, everyone can't believe the quality and that I made them.
Reviewer: John Goodgame (Foley, AL)
This is a great pen that looks great with almost any wood I use. Everyone that sees my pens wants one. It keeps me busy!

I have purchased over 40 Slimline Pen sets along with other purchases. I am exceptionally pleased with this model, easy and fast to make. I enjoy making them and giving them to friends relatives and associates. Within next couple of weeks I intend to purchase another 10 along with other items, Penn State is affordable and has a wider variety than other stores.

I find this kit to be great for the beginner. I've been using this kit for a while now. It's a simple kit and very well priced. I'm looking forward to building alot of pens in the future. Plus, with the FREE DVD on pen making you cannot go wrong. Great kits.
Thanks

I have used these kits in the past, and found them to be great. I have used kits from other suppliers, and not been as satisfied. I especially like the way the pen writes. It is very smooth, and does not leave a blobs of ink like others have done. I have also had people to whom I have given the pens comment on how nice they write.
Reviewer: David Steinle (Fritch, TX)
Yes, I have used this kit and I like it.

The slimline is a good start for pen turners.
Reviewer: Glen Wood (Mission, TX)
I made a pen and pencil set and it went so easy that I ordered a bunch of these. I give them away as gifts.
Reviewer: Michael Baswell (Colonial Heights, VA)
Very good product and priced for everyone. With the matching pencil they make a striking set for graduations and birthdays.
Beautiful pens, easy to make, looks good made with a dark wood like Walnut or Rosewood.
Reviewer: Robert Freeman (Orlando, FL)
This is a very economical pen while it gives the impression of more costly kits. I like the overall quality and design.

I have bought hundreds of slimline pen kits from PSI as well as other companies, too. The pen kits from PSI are the strongest and longest lasting ones that I have bought. Also, the mechanisms work smoother on the PSI kits than the other brands kits. I would recommend PSI kits to anyone who turns pens.

I'm getting a lot remarks about the slimline pens I made .
Reviewer: Richard Benedetti (Lake Oswego, OR)
Good quality but a little higher in price that the same item from your competitors.

I'm just a beginner at wood turning,
slimlines are great for beginners
Reviewer: John Cich (Apple Valley, CA)
I am fairly new to the world of wood turning and making pens. The quality of the pen kits, looks and ease of use is something that will keep me around for a long time to come. PSI says they are 24Kt., I say pure gold. Thanks PSI for a wonderful product.

VERY NICE PRODUCT AND EASY TO WORK WITH
Reviewer: Richard Henrichs (Shoreline, WA)
These are a great product, especially for a beginner. I was a little nervous when I started my first one but now I have done about 30. I have moved on to some of the more complicated ones. I come back to the Slimlines just for fun.

These are OK
I love your slim line pen kits. They go together well and work very smoothly. A great looking pen.
THESE KITS ARE READY TO GO. YOU DO NOT NEED TO ADJUST OR MODIFY THEM, JUST GO MAKE YOUR PENS.
These kits are great. They are easy, fun and most of all - a quality product. I highly recommend them for a quick, inexpensive product that works well.

My first pen kit was actually a gift that was purchased from a different company. After making a pen with it, I placed an order with PSI and got almost exactly the same kit, but with the black in the pocket holder. I like this much better. For the price, you cannot beat PSI. Great product.
Looks great in Olivewood. Looks very delicate, The ladies love it.
What I like most about these kits is that even though they are very reasonable in cost, the parts are durable, and the brass colored parts stay shiny and new looking for years, even with regular use.
Reviewer: Dwight Lundeen (Brooklyn Park, MN)
It is implied that this pen is a "starter pen." Only because of it's price. All who see the finished pens are impressed. One could just use this pen kit and make exquisite looking pens. Quality is excellent. Really love this kit.
Reviewer: MATTHEW BURGESS (Santa Cruz, CA)
I really like the slimline styles. They are easy to make and everyone seems to want them. This is true for the "funline" style also. The fact that you can order extra tubes for this style is really great, I can turn a project before I even order the hardware. I usually have twenty or so sections ready to turn at a given time and never cringe when I destroy a blank, unlike with the other styles.
Excellent items. All packaged neatly and complete with instructions. I will definitely order again.
Reviewer: Rob Elliott (Sahuarita, AZ)
Excellent kit and finish!
As a beginner I was a little scared but with the instructions and a little time I am turning this pen and putting a little flair of my own to it
I just started making pens a short time ago. These are very easy to make and look great.
The quality of this pen is a great value. Highly recommend and easy to make.
Reviewer: Russell Cataldo Sr (Knox, PA)
Good quality and better prices than the other online suppliers.
Some pen mechanisms fail when pressed into pen tubes but not these. Thanks for offering this standard of quality.
I have used in excess of 150 pens and not one problem. Price is reasonable and shipment is immediate and parts are on site within days. Great product, I plan to continue using same.
Very good kits at excellent price. All parts fit and functioned very well.

This was the first pen i made on my lathe. These kits always turn out looking excellent and people are always amazed! I used rosewood with this kit and they went together perfectly!
When I got my Lathe from Penn State it came with some pen blanks that were nice. Having more fun making my own out of local trees that grow here. Plum, Redwood and wild Cherry make an excellant pen.

I make a lot of the Slimline Pen and Pencil kits and they sell very quickly, I have tried kits from other suppliers but have found the length can vary from one purchase to another so it makes it very hard to make a set. I never have this problem with PSI. Their kits are by far the best and they stand behind them. PSI has replaced pencil mechanisms that have gone bad with no questions asked. I will continue to purchase all my supplies from PSI. And my 10-year-old son and I are loving this new hobby.

My wife had never turned anything on the lathe before starting to turn pens. She is making them as Christmas gifts for all of her friends, and we're having a great time working in my shop together.

When I got my starter kit, I assumed that as most things that generally come in starter kits that the slimline stuff was going to be bottom of the barrel. I was proved wrong :-). While they may not be the be all and end all of pen kits, they are fantastically versatile and VERY reasonably priced. All of the starter kits I made (pen and pencil) have been snarfed up by someone already! While I do want to try other kits, this one will be a staple in my pen making shop. Don''t let these put you off, let your creativity soar and you will be most pleasantly surprised at all the interesting variations are possible with these kits. Your clients and friends will love them too.

I am a client who now uses your pen kits exclusively in my small custom craft business. Your prices are excellent, your directions are well written and easy to follow and I found your customer service not only friendly but knowledgeable. As I usually don't stock a lot of kits in my inventory I purchased from your authorized dealer in Ontario, and I would also to compliment you on having someone whose stock, pricing and good client care make me keep coming back. It's a pleasure dealing with your products, you've helped me make my business!!!

I am a beginner when it comes to turning. These kits make it easy to make great looking pens from what would have been scraps from other woodworking projects. People at work think they look and feel great. The slimline kits made it all possible

I have made more than 500 pens, pencils and fountain pens for sale and I can state that Pennstate are very high quality kits.
