It's a great chuck. I've been able to complete so many projects since I received it... christmas will be a breeze. The chuck comes with multiple sets of jaws, I really can't foresee needing any other chuck than this one. PSI is a great resource!

Product works very well, only complaint is the auxiliary drive point that fits in the chuck has to be installed perfectly or it wobbles. Sometimes takes 3 or 4 tries to get it right. Other than that it works great.

The chuck is well made and finished nicely. The assortment of jaws and accesories make this an all around chuck for small to semi-large work. I did find that it did not seem to hold the work as I would need to retighten the jaws frequently after noticing just a slight catch or bump would completely move the work in the jaws. My early model Barracuda chuck with tightening levers seem to hold better.

This kit is a great value! There are more jaws included with the chuck than any other brand! The quality is very good as well. I really wish I could give it 5 stars, and if there was a 4.5 stars I would have chose that. The reason for 4 stars is the case is very poor. It appears to be some sort of 'generic' case as it has compartments for other pieces. The main problem is there is nothing to hold the jaws in place. Thus when the case is moved you end up with parts everywhere. With a product like this the case is important as there are so many pieces. If the case is not an issue to you, then consider this a 5 star review. Even if you are like me, this is still a great product, just keep in mind there may be some storage issues.

This chuck is amazing! It is well worth the money. Unlike some it has a backplate with indexing! Great item! The only glich is that when I tried the reducer adapter on another lathe it did not run as true. Fine on 1X8tpi LOVE IT!

I have used this chuck system. It works great except when you tighten down on a project the key likes to jump and skip cogs on the gears, you have to push down pretty hard not to skip.

I've put this chuck to the test with many multiple turnings. It has smooth operating jaws that bite well onto the stock. It does take several minutes to change the jaws out (several screws on each jaw), but not a real issue. The jaws are numbered so that you put them on in the correct place on the chuck so that jaws come together evenly. The T/N coating cleans easily. My only complaint would be the case (a little on the cheap side, the locking tabs for holding case closed are soft and don't latch well without some careful attention). Overall, the system is very good.

Fit and finish is great and it looks good even when not is use. The price is right and the package includes practically all the accessories you will need. Probably more than you'll need for a while. For the novice turner the instruction book could be a lot more detailed. While even the most experienced turner knows how to use the indexing feature on their lathe, there is no explanation as to the practicle use of the indexing ring on the chuck.

I've only had a chance to try a few of the many configurations this chuck is capable of, but so far I'm very impressed. The quality of the tool is top notch. The jaw action is smooth and the key fits securely. Also, the single key design is much easier to mount with, as you have a free hand to stabilize the workpiece. The only things I can say negative are: 1) I wish the pegs on the flat jaws had a bit more "dovetailing" (slope) to help them grab the piece. 2) I wish the whole thing wasn't covered in a cosmoline-like substance. The TiN coating should negate the need for a protectant. 3) The case could be a bit better. It's obvious that this is a generic case that fits many different parts. They don't stay locked in place and can shift around if you carry it around, but how often do you go on road trips with your lathe chuck?! :) Overall I'd give this tool a rating of 85-90 on a 100-point scale. Highly recommended!

This is a great kit for turning. The only downfall, and reason for a "4", is the molded case doesn't do a good job of securing the smaller parts. Looks great on the lathe, but more important is very functional.
