Make round boxes with mating threaded tops and bottoms. How does this neat system work? First turn the box bottom (or top) on the headstock. Next mount the tread cutting body in the toolrest. Then the chucking assembly (or faceplate) is removed from the headstock and placed onto the thread cutting body. Mount the cutter onto the lathe headstock, align the cutter, turn the lead screw in the body into the cutter to cut the thread. The system cuts a 10 tpi thread.
